Youth Scholarships Purpose: $8,000 scholarships to AQHYA members who have belonged for three or more years. The recipient will receive $2,000 per year for four years. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Maximum no. of
awards: 25. Minimum award amount: $8000. AQHF Education or Nursing
Scholarship Purpose: Must be current member of AQHA or AQHYA and pursuing
a career in education or nursing. Recipient receives $2500 per year for
four years. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Minimum award amount:
$10000. AQHF Journalism or Communications
Scholarship Purpose: Must be member of AQHA or AQHYA who is pursuing
a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Recipient
receives $2000 per year for a four-year degree plan. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.
Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Minimum award amount:
$8000. AQHF Racing Scholarships Purpose: Must be member of AQHA or AQHYA and intend to
pursue a career in the American Quarter Horse racing industry or related
field. Recipients receive $2000 per year for four years. Minimum 2.5 GPA
required. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Maximum no. of
awards: 5. Minimum award amount: $8000. AQHF Telephony Scholarship
for Senior Veterinary Students Purpose: $10,000 awarded to member of AQHA in his/her third
year of veterinary medicine. Monies will be applied to last year of coursework.
Minimum 3.0 GPA. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Minimum award amount:
$5000. Maximum award amount: $10000. National Youth Cutting Horse Scholarships Excellence in Equine/Agricultural Involvement Scholarship Purpose: $25,000 scholarship to a current Member of AQHYA
or AQHA from a farming or ranching family who exemplifies the qualities
developed through a lifetime involvement with horses and agriculture.
The recipient will receive $6,250 per year for a four-year degree plan
if recipient maintains a 3.5 GPA. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Minimum award amount:
$25000. Farm and Ranch Heritage Scholarship Purpose: $12,500 scholarship to current AQHYA or AQHA Members
from farm or ranch backgrounds. The recipients will receive $3,125 per
year for a four-year degree plan if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.

awards: 2. Minimum award amount: $12500. Guy Stoops Memorial Professional
Horsemen's Family Scholarship Purpose: $500 will be awarded to the child of an AQHA Professional
Horseman. Applicant must be AQHA member for three or more years. Minimum
2.5 GPA. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Minimum award amount:
$500. AQHF Working Student Scholarship Purpose: Must be member of AQHA or AQHYA who plans to work
a minimum of 200 hours per school year. Recipient receives $2000 per year
for a four-year degree plan. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Funds Avail.: Minimum no. of awards: 1. Minimum award amount:

COAST EQUINE FOUNDATION Race for Education Scholarships The Horsemen's Scholarship is available to children of racetrack, backside and horse farm employees. This includes but is not limited to foremen, grooms, hot walkers, assistant trainers, riders, and maintenance and office workers. Household income may not exceed $60,000 per year. This scholarship is open to any field of study, and students will be required to maintain a minimum 3.0 average GPA and must submit transcripts, along with a letter describing their progress to the foundation at the conclusion of each semester. The Thoroughbred Scholarship is available to students wishing to pursue an equine-related career, such as veterinary medicine (mixed large animal or equine practitioner), agricultural science with equine focus, racetrack management, or equine business management. Household income may not exceed $60,000 per year. The scholarship is open to students from all walks of life. Students will be required to maintain a minimum 3.0 average GPA and must submit their transcripts, along with a letter describing their progress to the foundation at the conclusion of each semester. The National Turf Writers Association/Youbet Journalism Scholarship The National Turf Writers Association/Youbet Journalism Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate journalism students at any accredited university in the United States. The scholarship recipient will receive up to $10,000 per year to cover tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for courses. The scholarship will be renewed yearly for up to four years as long as the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA. The Race For Education will handle the funds and will disseminate the money, made payable to the students college or university, each semester. |
